A Luristan Bronze Ithyphallic figure of a Man, ca. 2nd millennium BCE

Probably a god, with beak nose, elongated head and large circular eyes, a small cap perched on top of his head, the nude figure with phallus, shown standing with legs widespread, his hands clasped together on his stomach and two ring dots stamped on the body, attachment loop on the back.

Dimensions:  Height: 1 3/4 inches (4.45 cm)

Condition:  Intact and in very good condition overall.  Museum quality custom mount.

Provenance:  Private collection of Harry and Gertrude Lander, New Haven CT acquired between 1950 and 1965 while traveling internationally, and then by descent to a private Maryland collection.
